BVLGARI YELLOW AND WHITE GOLD TUBOGAS WRAP BB191T
The crafting of a Bvlgari Tubogas watch is a process that requires immense patience and precision. Two metal strands are heated to the point of flexibility, then meticulously wound around a wooden or solid metal core (which is then removed), giving the bracelet a comfortable elasticity in spite of the unbreakable nature of its components. Constant control over the temperature of the metal is crucial to its flawless construction. But when the timepiece in question happens to incorporate two separate metals that each require a different temperature to achieve malleability, that requires unraveled skill on the part of an extremely gifted goldsmith.
Such is the case with this timepiece from the 1990s. A single coil of 18 karat white gold is flanked by two coils of 18 karat yellow gold, winding up the wrist of the wearer almost like a coiled snake. Where the head would be sits a yellow gold case holding a black dial with ten gold index markers and Arabic numerals at 12 and 6. The iconic “Bvlgari-Bvlgari” logo is engraved around the bezel in a quasi-Cyrillic script; a design that further adds to the watch’s glamorously exotic allure. This watch also doubles as a sophisticated and must-have statement bracelet.
This timepiece is powered by a quartz movement, assuring the greatest accuracy with the least amount of maintenance.
