Made in France in a very limited production, collectors timepiece

A collector’s dream and a masterpiece of Parisian craftsmanship, this Cartier Baignoire Allongée (Model 2674) is a rare, hand-finished work of horological art. Fashioned in 18k gold with a diamond case and produced in strictly limited numbers in Cartier’s revered Paris atelier, this timepiece embodies the Maison’s timeless savoir-faire.

It all began in 1912 when Louis Cartier took the humble round watch and thought, non, merci, let’s do something daring. The result? The Baignoire Allongée, named after its “elongated bathtub” shape—though some say it’s more of a nod to the privileged opera seats at the Palais Garnier. Either way, the design has aged with the kind of grace that most of us can only aspire to.

The Baignoire has long been the choice of the world’s most effortlessly stylish individuals. Catherine Deneuve was an early devotee. Another early adopter, George Harrison, also wore one. Today, the Baignoire’s torch is carried by a new generation of aficionados who recognize true design pedigree when they see it.

This particular reference 2674 with its 18k yellow gold diamond case, circa 2005, is pure Cartier mastery. The bold, elongated Roman numerals follow the gentle curvature of the dial, a signature flourish that makes the watch instantly recognizable.  Finished with a diamond crown, a luxurious punctuation mark known only to Cartier.

Ticking away inside is a finely finished manual-wind mechanical movement, a reminder of an era when watchmaking was as much about human touch as technical precision. This reference is stamped Made in France, marking it as a true Paris Atelier creation, a distinction that places it in a rarified category among serious collectors.

Presented in pristine condition with its original box and papers, this extraordinary timepiece is a rare opportunity to own a Cartier of genuine significance and provenance.
